Grammar focus

Today, we’re focusing on the phrase 'ในช่วงที่' (nai chûang thîi), which is used to describe events that happen during a particular period or moment. It’s a great tool when you want to talk about something happening while or during another situation. This structure is especially useful for storytelling because it allows you to clearly explain when an event occurs within a specific timeframe.

For example:

- ในช่วงที่มีพายุแรง
(Nai chûang thîi mii phaa-yú raeng)
During the time that there was a strong storm.

- ในช่วงที่ฉันเรียนมหาวิทยาลัย
(Nai chûang thîi chán rian ma-hǎa-wít-tha-yaa-lai)
During the time that I was studying at university.

- ในช่วงที่รถติด
(Nai chûang thîi rót dtìt)
During the time that there was a traffic jam.

- ในช่วงที่ฝนตกหนัก
(Nai chûang thîi fǒn dtòk nàk)
During the time that it was raining heavily.

- ในช่วงที่ฉันไม่อยู่บ้าน
(Nai chûang thîi chán mâi yùu bâan)
During the time that I wasn’t home.

This grammar point makes it easy to describe actions or events that occur within a certain timeframe. It’s perfect for giving context to situations, whether you're telling a story or explaining an event.
