About Kru Nariss
Kru Nariss is a TEFL-certified native Thai teacher based in Koh Samui with over six years of experience teaching students from more than 30 countries. She offers private 1:1 lessons, group classes, and self-paced video courses online, plus face-to-face lessons on the island. Nariss grew up in a small town in central Thailand where most people spoke only Thai. She studied English at university and discovered something unexpected: the thrill of watching someone go from confused silence to their first real sentence in a new language. That moment, she says, is what hooked her.
After earning her TEFL certification, she moved to Koh Samui and started teaching expats and tourists who wanted more than phrasebook Thai. Word spread through the island's close-knit community. One student became five, then twenty, then an Instagram following of over 21,000 people watching her short Thai lessons between posts about island life.
Today she teaches students across six continents. Some learn online via Zoom from their living room in London or Sydney. Others sit across from her at a cafe in Choeng Mon.
